macOS Pilot 21.1.39 loads to a Blank White Screen when connecting to Xinet 2021.1 or 2021.2

Overview

When using the 21.1.39 version of Xinet Pilot on macOS to connect to a Xinet Portal 2021.1 or 2021.2 server running PHP 7.4, users report that they only see a blank white screen.

Within the Apache logs, you see the following errors:

• [php7:warn] [pid 1631] [client 172.16.136.1:51099] PHP Warning: templates::create_parser(PORTAL/libs/PILOT.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/etc/portal/PORTAL/libs/STYLES.obj.php on line 168

• [php7:error] [pid 1631] [client 172.16.136.1:51099] PHP Fatal error: templates::create_parser(): Failed opening required 'PORTAL/libs/PILOT.inc.php' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/etc/portal') in /usr/etc/portal/PORTAL/libs/STYLES.obj.php on line 168

Solution

This behavior was isolated to a defect within Xinet Portal 2021.1 and 2021.2 and was addressed in the 2021.3 release. To address this trouble, please download and install the latest PHP 7.4 Portal 2021.3 installer artifact that includes "updated" in the file name: Xinet-Portal-LINUX-7-PHP7.4-2021.3 updated.tar.
