Overview
The following instructions are for installing a Xinet Pilot for the first time on a local Windows machine. Once installed, the Pilot icon is displayed in the system tray on a Windows machine.
Prerequisites
Login credentials to Xinet Portal/Pilot.
Solution
To Install the Xinet Pilot on a Windows machine, follow these steps:
- Download Xinet Pilot, two options are available:
- from the Xinet server:
- On your Windows network, find the server running Xinet 19.1 (You may need to ask your administrator or Support for help).
- Follow the instructions that are on the Mount the Xinet volume using SMB article.
- Connect with the following credentials:
User name:macfiles
Password: (leave the password blank) - Download the file XinetPilotInstaller.exe from the Xinet volume to your computer.

If you're an Authorized Xinet Integrator, download xinet-client-win-pilot-<version>-release.exe.zip archive from the AXI portal.
- from the Xinet server:
- Once downloaded, right-click on the file and Run as Administrator.

You may receive a security warning, click on Run.

The setup wizard will launch, click on Next.
- Review the End Users License Agreement. Click on I accept the terms in the License Agreement, then click on Next.
- Click on Install, then Finish.
Testing
The installer finishes successfully.
Note: before the Xinet Pilot is fully operational, it needs to be configured with the Xinet server URL.
