Starting and Stopping the Xinet Service

Overview

The Xinet service (also known as Xinet WebNative Suite) contains the following sub-services:

atinit FullPress AppleTalk services
hotfd Hot Folder daemon
mysqld MySQL daemon 
dblogd Daemon for transmitting the events from FullPress and WebNative to the MySQL Xinet WebNative Venture database

 

At times, administrators might be interested in stopping or starting the Xinet service, and consequently, the sub-services to do the maintenance tasks on the server where it is installed.

This article provides the commands to stop and start the Xinet service.

 


 

Process

  1. Run the following command to stop the Xinet service:

    /etc/init.d/xinet stop
  2. To start the service, run the following command:

    /etc/init.d/xinet start
