Overview
Creating new Xinet groups and editing membership for existing groups are similar activities with similar options.
This article provides the process of creating/editing groups in Xinet.
Process
To create or edit a group, please follow the steps below.
-
Go to Volumes/Users > Groups tab.
-
Based on what you intend to do, please choose and execute one of the following points.
-
Creating a new group: Click the New Group tab and enter the name in the Group Name field.
-
Editing an existing group: Click the Edit Group tab and choose the relevant group from the pop-up Group Menu list. If an asterisk appears next to a group name, it means that the group has a sub-administrator.
-
-
Existing Xinet users appear in the Users list. Click on user names and use the Add> button to add them to the group. Similarly, select and use the <Remove button to remove a member from the group membership list.
Depending on the number of users on your system, you may have to use a pop-up alphabetical-range selector to find users.
When creating a new group, you also have an option to copy a group's settings to the new group. Use the Copy Group drop-down menu and select an existing group to do so. -
When you are satisfied with your settings, click on the Add Group button when creating a new group or click on the Submit button when editing an existing group.
